Having a clear idea of what you need not only helps you define a shortlist of 3 – 6 possible venues, but it also gives you the basis of a great brief to those venues. Letting them know exactly what you are looking for and where they can help.

  1. Contact Venues with Your Brief: Reach out to your selected venues and provide them with your detailed brief. Request their information packs, rates, menus, and any event packages they offer.

  2. Compare Venues: Line up the received information against each other to find the perfect fit for your event.

  3. Scoring System: If you’re unsure about which venue to choose, score each one on a scale of 1 – 5 against each of your selection criteria. This scoring will give you an overall score for each venue.

  4. Decision-Making: Combine the scores with their rates to make a sound decision. This will help in finalising the venue and completing a significant part of your event planning.

Pro Tip: It’s always worth visiting the venues on your shortlist. Website galleries cannot capture the overall vibe and energy of a venue. Visiting can really help you decide. If the venue is open to the public, have a meal there, try the food, and check out the staff's friendliness.
